'House' second episode: When cancer isn't cancer
The St. Watching House is a bit like riding a roller coaster. Details of the scenery blur past you until you arrive at the final destination feeling slightly confused, somewhat exhilarated, yet perfectly willing to go again because, while you have no idea what just happened, it was fun while it lasted. Maybe it's fun cause we don't actually know what the medicos are talking about when they throw possible diagnosis at each other. Let's be honest, they could be speaking Klingon when they start laying down some of that medical jargon and we would never know (well, those of us who don't hold a master's degree in Klingon as a second language, thank you very much). We have to rely on the blinking lights and screeching alarms to figure out whether or not the treatment is working and sometimes even that's not a clear signal. In Tuesday's episode apparently the patient had cancer yet didn't have cancer. Which is still a more accurate diagnoses than the lung specialist gave my mom when they ...

Raiders owner Al Davis seems to be preparing to do what so many sports talks hosts have been begging him to do: If you're going to fire Kiffin as head coach, do it now while the team has a week off. But come on, Al. You wanted this guy. And now you let him dangle like this, which is how you do things.
